Comfortable seating begins with rows of double-coil steel springs positioned within the frame supported by a platform of poly webbing and steel bands, where applicable. Artisans then tie each coil to the frame with fine twine in eight directions. Eight-way hand-tied suspension is a heritage technique that requires exceptional skill and creates our signature “sit” that is soft, supportive, and flexible. Seat cushions are constructed with high resiliency soy-based foam that is wrapped in fiber then encased in a soft fabric ticking which reduces abrasion and helps fabric wear longer. Loose back cushions are baffled to hold the fiber in place.
