Five pierced legs shaped in an organic form. Patterned after an early Gustav Stickley table with top and fixed shelf shaped like a poppy flower.
This rich case makes a beautiful home for a beloved book collection. Of the seven 12-inch deep shelves, the bottom, third, and top shelves are fixed while the rest are adjustable. Levelers in the bottom shelf are accessed from above, so they can be used without removing the contents. Optional doors that enclose the lower two shelves feature butterfly joinery and textured metal hardware.
With a remarkable hinge mechanism that controls the movement of its two self-storing leaves, this versatile table expands from 72 to 114 inches to accommodate larger gatherings. A mix of pinned mortise-and-tenon and butterfly joinery adds to its stability and beauty, and the oak version features quadralinear posts that display the wood’s beautiful grain on all four sides.
